My name is Carson Burns, AGNP-C, and I am a newly board-certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. Although I am new to the role of NP, I am not new to oncology as I have been working in this field for over 5 years. Throughout my nursing career I have gained experience in both hematology-oncology and medical and surgical oncology practice; as a chemotherapy certified nurse, I am also very experienced in the administration and management of antineoplastic agents for a variety of diagnoses. In addition to my degree as an NP, I have a Master’s degree in education, and I am passionate about educating patients and their families about diagnoses and treatments so that they feel prepared, confident, and comfortable with the care they are receiving.

I am an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Oncology Nursing Society, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University and received both my Master’s degree and Post-Master’s Certificate from Research College of Nursing.
